Jan 17 Spring classes begin

Jan 30 Last day to add or register for Spring classes

Jan 23 Last day to withdraw (drop all classes) for a 80% refund

April 13 Last day to drop (DR grade) a class or withdraw (grade of W)

Week 1
An Introduction to Demographic Changes - View the Brookings Institution video on this Youtube link to gain an understanding of demographic changes over the next few decades. Discuss the contents of the video with a peer and submit a paper describing your recommendations about how these changes may impact society.

Introduction to Diversity at a Local Level - Review the difference in ethnicity, gender, and socioeconomic status (SES) between the school district where you work or one near you and those from around the south Texas region. If you are outside of the south Texas Region compare your area. Visit the TEA Snapshot webpage LINK for help obtaining data.

You have two parts to this assignment: 1. Review the page using the criteria mentioned in the first sentence and write a 250 word summary of your findings. Submit your summary to me via email (reyram49@gmail.com). 2. Discuss your findings with someone else in another district and write a reflection on how the districts chosen compare in terms of ethnicity, gender, and SES.
